I'm so happy to finally be able to show you this finished quilt! I finished this baby quilt back in October for a friend who was due in November. (I have never been able to finish something that far in advance!) And since these friends live close to my home town I decided to give them the quilt in person.
My inspiration came from Holly over at
Bijou Lovely. This picture of a baby quilt she had done has been floating around pinterest:
I love the simplicity and knew it would work great to showcase the fabrics I picked out. I settled on roughly a 50" square quilt and figured out the widths of the columns/rows along with the sashing in a 3D cad program. (Don't you hate nerds?!)
My friends were expecting a little boy and I knew they would enjoy the viking fabrics and little boats!
I do love the back so so much! The map print is wonderful and I can't get enough of it.
Would you like to make your own? Well you could do the math yourself like me or Holly now has a pattern available in her
shop.
Happy Sewing!
Cute!
