I'm finding blogging is fitting my lifestyle less and less over the past few months. For me it is much easier to snap a pic with my phone, edit the photo a bit, and write a short blurb about it. So, I guess my point is I want to continue to blog but I have a feeling the posts may be more picture based than text. They say "Don't fear change" right?
With this in mind I present my Liberty quilt! This baby has taken me two years to complete and is a project I did for me and only me. I find myself not doing many of these which makes this quilt even sweeter.
Two years you say? My first trip to London was two years ago and I purchased the fabric for the front of the quilt. This past summer I purchased the fabric for the backing and binding on my second trip. So, the time frame was partly due to me wanting to purchase while in the UK along with me not wanting to cut into the fabric along (!) along with the cost associated with Liberty.
I think my favorite fabric of them all is the flower print in the above picture (far right).
If you have ever yearned for a summer quilt this fabric is fantastic! I love to lounge on the couch under this light, airy, and silky quilt. And the best part is you could get the same effect for less! Robert Kaufman makes a wonderful Cotton Lawn at a much more affordable price. And I'm sure there are other manufacturers out there that do the same.
